fickle

i don't have a lack of focus, really. i think it's more that i have too much focus.

for the moment, anthropology isn't working out - maybe it will continue to work out in the future, because i dearly love all things anthropology (except that part where fieldwork is mere observation and has no ground level function, at least not for the first 30 years or so of one's career).

here are all the things i think sound interesting in terms of my future:

1. saving the world through making out with boys (i believe this one gets frank's vote of approval)
2. saving the world through restaurateuring (trust me on this one; i've got what could be called "bubbe bosoms" and could clearly adapt a headwrap persona).
3. going back to school for a b.s. in biology, which could lead to a)medical school or b) wildlife biology
4. going back to school for a continuing degree in secondary education, teaching at an inner city school (student loans forgiven? helping underprivileged youth?)
5. saving the world through writing novels, pretentiously of course
6. dual master's degree in public affairs // philanthropy.
7. hair school

clearly, i'm currently out of sorts.

i'll be in indianapolis thursday through sunday, if you'd like to arrange a meeting.

Is the "hair school" choice the 21st century version of "forest ranger"?

I still think the "saving the world through making out with boys" thing has promise. I picture the organization you'd join as something like the Peace Corps, only dressed differently.

And spelled differently, too, I suppose.
